AUTOBOT SEASPRAY

ALLEGIANCE: AUTOBOT
FUNCTION: NAVAL DEFENSE
FIRST APPEARANCE: TRANSFORMERS # 17

"Be unyielding as the ocean waves and your enemies shall fall."

Profile: Shooting across the wave crests like a gleaming bullet, Seaspray performs his job with a zest unmatched by any of his fellow Autobots. This is because for him the Earth is an even more unique experience than for his comrades - his domain, the vast ocean, has no counterpart on his native Cybertron. And he loves the ocean. He loves the galaxy of creatures that inhabit its depths and he loves the freedom of movement its near-limitless expanse allows. He is saddened whenever it is necessary to revert back to his robot form on land. He also loves the thrill of naval battle, despite knowing that a single hit by enemy fire could send him to the bottom of the sea forever. It is a risk Seaspray finds as invigorating as the ocean air.

Abilities: As a hovercraft, Seaspray is capable of speeds up to 120 knots and has a 4000-mile range. He's equipped with various sonar and radar devices as well as underwater and surface-to-air laser cannons. He also has wheels that enable him to travel for short distances on land. In robot mode, he also has use of his laser cannons, which he can shoot through his hands.

Weaknesses: Seaspray is not very strong or mobile in robot mode - he is a liability as a warrior on land.

**As you can see, there are no shortages of Seaspray's in my collection either. I got my first as a kid, and as well as I tried to take care of my toys, unfortunately he is the one Transformer that I have that went though trauma, when my stepmothers dog got into my room as a kid and chewed up the front of him while I was away. Afterwards I had to play with him as my battle-damaged one.  Anyway, I made it a mission to get a good one when I could, and wound up with two more.

Much like Beachcomber, Cosmos, Powerglide and Warpath I am also a big fan of Seaspray because he is from issue #17 and 18 of Marvels comic series line, which is the Smelting Pool story, which is as I am sure you are aware, the name of my site. It is to me, my favorite storyline of Transformers. Powerglide was part of an eBay purchase, and I was finally glad to get him when I did.  He was always one I really wanted, but somehow never seemed to work out.

In my collecting, I worked to Gain Beachcomber, Blaster, Cosmos, Perceptor, Seaspray,  and Warpath to go with Powerglide, so I had the whole team from Cybertron.  Unfortunately they never made a Scrounge figure to go with them, or a Lord Straxus of the Decepticons for that matter.

Besides my unfortunate mangled one, both of my other Seasprays are in near-mint condition with tight joints, and little to no sticker wear.

**NEW**  Check out my new mint on card Generation 2 Seaspray in the latest additional pics.  I am pumped about that.***
