Intelligence Officer

Code Name: BARONESS

Primary Military Specialty: Intelligence
Secondary Military Specialty: Fixed Wing Pilot
Birthplace: Classified

The spoiled offspring of wealthy European aristocrats, the Baroness graduated from student radicalism into international terrorism and finally into the ranks of COBRA. She was severely burned during a COBRA night attack operation and has had extensive plastic surgery. Rumor has it that she is the only one who knows Destro's secret identity. Qualified expert: M-16; AK-47; RPG7; Uzi; H.I.S.S. tank operator.

"Her principal weakness is in the division of her loyalty between COBRA Commander and Destro. Her chief strength would seem to lie in her ability to play them against each other."

My Personal Notes: Well, Baroness has to rank as one of my favorites of the Joes.  In the earlier part of the G.I. Joe story, she was one of the only Cobras besides Cobra Commander himself.  Plus I have to admit I always found her character just appealing in itself.  Guess the fanboy in me couldn't resist, even at an early age.

She is complete with her rifle and backpack.  She is another that I had as a kid, but mysteriously vanished with time.  As I said, it is weird since she was a favorite.  I can only conclude I had her on display with something else like a vehicle, etc.  Hopefully she will turn up, but in the meantime, I replaced her with another I got off of eBay in early 2012.

Additional Items: Currently, I haven't had a chance to create separate pages for things outside of the figures, so I am including a couple of items I have for the Baroness below that I also think are cool additions to my collection.

I also picked up a signed proof card from the G.I.Joe Convention of 2011 that includes the signature of her voice actor, Morgan Lofting as well as the voice actor of Dial-tone, Hank Garrett.  Morgan really was an important part of making Baroness who she was with her voice.  I wish I could say I got it in person, but alas it was another eBay pickup.

Finally, this awesome cover prelim features the work of Eisner Award winner Tom Feister, comics illustrator best known for his work on Ex Machina, Legion of Super Heroes, GI Joe, and Fantastic Four. Note- this is an actual, original piece of art drawn by hand by Feister. It is not a copy, print or pre-printed image. It is a one-of-a-kind original! It measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches, is in excellent condition (it is artwork, and a prelim, so obviously it isn't perfect but it has no major flaws like tears, punctures, or any of the like).  I found a good deal on it as well off of eBay.
